Over New Years a group of us Casita owners got together at Gulf Islands Nat. Seashore park, FL section. The campground at Ft. Pickens is nice, an easy walk tot he beach and very quiet. Unfortunately the weather was very cold and windy, not the best for enjoying the outdoors but we all made the best of it. Bob and Pat hosted folks at their campfire each evening and supplied delicious gumbo one night. Another night there were pots of hot chili to warm us.
A major draw of the park aside from the fort is the wonderful white sand beaches that go on for miles. There are several boardwalks across the dunes making access easy. We stayed at campground loop A which was just across the street from one such boardwalk.
